Fetal Distress

A condition where an unborn baby has its oxygen supply or blood circulation compromised, diminished or interrupted. Should this occur, the unborn baby is at risk for serious brain injury or death. The mother's health may also be at risk. It is imperative that immediate action be taken by the doctor to alleviate the condition including delivery of the baby.
